There’s so much happening at the library! Here are a few activities and events to mark on your calendar:

  1. Art Hive
Unleash your creativity at our Art Hive! This free, drop-in program is open to all ages and is run by volunteer Maria-Helena as part of her studies in Art Therapy. Whether you want to explore your artistic side, share skills, or just connect with others, everyone is welcome. Join us on Saturdays, March 1, 15, and 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  2. Astronomy Club
Curious about the cosmos? Our Astronomy Club meets on the last Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the library. Open to ages 13 and up, the club is led by our expert volunteer, Richard, who brings 30 years of experience and a passion for stargazing. Past topics have included solar energy, observing techniques, and even the search for methane seeps on Earth to help us understand the potential for life on Mars. Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or a beginner, this is the place for you! Sign up now!
  3. NFB Movie Night
In partnership with the Arbor Gallery, we’re excited to present Any Other Way – The Jackie Shane Story. This film tells the inspiring story of trans soul singer Jackie Shane, a trailblazer who captivated audiences in the 20th century. Join us at the Arbor Gallery on Thursday, February 27, at 6:30 p.m. Save your spot.
  4. Reading Challenge: Italy
Our next stop in the Around the World Reading Challenge is Italy! Read a book with an Italian connection to get your passport stamped and a chance to win prizes.
