It’s Ontario Agriculture Week, kind of a big deal around these parts, and whether you’ve got farming in your blood or you’re just harvesting your first crop, we have a few things at the Champlain Library you may be interested in.
Our Ingenium museum pass offers free entry for two adults and up to four children to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum. They have some neat activities going on centered around the theme “Honouring the Harvest”.
Of course, we have books for kids:
And books for adults:
- Big Chicken : The incredible story of how antibiotics created modern agriculture and changed the way the world eats
- Dirt to Soil : One family’s journey into regenerative agriculture
- Farmacology: Total Health from the Ground Up
You can also check out magazines like Small Farm Canada, Birds & Bloom, and Mother Earth News to get a head start on next year.
Happy Harvest!
