Two years after opening, one location of a local not-for-profit food store is closing.
Arks Harvest announced in a social media post on Friday, October 30 that it will be closing its Hawkesbury store. The location opened at 548 Main Street East in November 2024. The final day of operation for the store will be Saturday, November 14.
According to the message, due to the continued rise in fruit and vegetable costs, increasing rent, and electricity expenses that have become increasingly difficult to manage, Arks Harvest can unfortunately no longer keep the Hawkesbury location open.
To continue serving customers in Hawkesbury, Arks Harvest is currently exploring the possibility of offering a delivery service for those interested. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
The Arks Harvest locations in Vankleek Hill at 42 Mill Street East and Cornwall at 1 Water Street East will remain open.
