Three local businesses are joining forces this fall to celebrate herbal traditions, local production and the simple pleasure of gathering together.
On October 24 from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 p.m., My Nordic Garden, St-Eugène Vinegar and Vankleek Hill Vineyard will host a hands-on Fire Cider Workshop at the Vankleek Hill Vineyard.
Participants will discover the traditional herbal preparation known as Fire Cider and explore the warming, aromatic qualities of ingredients – including horseradish, garlic, onion, ginger, turmeric, thyme and rosemary – through tasting and working with the herbs. Each participant will then create their own jar of fire cider to take home.
A special highlight will be a presentation by Ian Ruckriegel from St-Eugène Vinegar, who will share the story behind their locally made apple cider vinegar, the foundation of the fire cider participants will prepare during the workshop.
The collaboration brings together three complementary local businesses: My Nordic Garden’s expertise in herbalism and nature-based experiences, St-Eugène Vinegar’s craft and locally made vinegar, and Vankleek Hill Vineyard’s welcoming setting and local food and wine.
Guests are invited to linger after the workshop, with food and wine available à la carte.
The event offers a warm and hands-on way to welcome the autumn season while supporting local businesses and celebrating the knowledge, products and places that make the region special.
Tickets cost $50+TX and can be purchased online at www.mynordicgarden.ca/event-list
