A lot of things can be done at a drive-through these days, including dropping off hazardous waste.
Residents of Champlain, East Hawkesbury, and Hawkesbury lined up in their cars on Saturday, October 3 after cleaning out their garages, basements, and sheds to safely dispose of household hazardous waste. The annual collection day was held at the Hawkesbury Wastewater Treatment plant. Municipal staff and representatives of a disposal company safely placed the materials in containers to be taken away and processed. Student volunteers from École secondaire publique Le Sommet assisted.
