The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) Foundation has received a $30,000 donation made possible through an employee fundraising initiative at MLS Insurance in St-Isidore and matching contributions from both MLS Insurance and Intact Insurance.
The donation began with the dedication and generosity of MLS Insurance employees, who contributed a small amount each Friday for the opportunity to wear jeans in the workplace. Through this employee-led initiative, $10,000 was raised. MLS Insurance then matched the amount, doubling the impact of the employees’ efforts.
“What started as a simple employee initiative grew into an incredible $30,000 gift thanks to the support of MLS Insurance and Intact Insurance. We’re grateful to everyone involved for helping strengthen mental health and addictions services in our community,” said HGH Foundation Executive Director Erin Tabakman.
Building on this momentum, MLS Insurance applied to Intact Insurance for an additional matching gift. Intact Insurance responded with a further $10,000 contribution, bringing the total donation to $30,000.
The official cheque presentation took place at the MLS Insurance office in St. Isidore on September 8.
This gift will help strengthen mental health and addictions services for individuals and families throughout the communities served by the MLS’s four offices, ensuring access to compassionate, high-quality care close to home. At a time when demand for these services continues to grow, community support plays a vital role in helping people access the care they need.
