A Family History Day took place on Sunday, August 23 at the Lochiel Centre in North Glengarry as part of the 175th anniversary of the former Catholic Church, now a community centre. Twenty-three family history exhibits had the hall overflowing with photographs, memorabilia and people at the event, which took place from 11 am to 6 pm. The Ian MacLeod fiddlers and dancers added traditional music and dance to the day. The event was organized by Henriette Jeaurond-Keusch, who said she wanted the day to be about community. She sent out more than 400 invitations to encourage people to participate in the event and estimates that it was attended by more than 200 people. The Lochiel Centre is located at 20923 County Road 21 and is known for its mega book sales, held twice per year.
