A third individual has been arrested for first degree murder in connection with a homicide investigation in Clarence-Rockland.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, Yvon Vieno, 38 years old of Ottawa, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- First degree murder, s. 235(1)
- Conspiracy to commit murder, s. 465(1)(a)
- Indignity to a body, s. 182(b)
The accused was held in custody and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Thursday, June 25.
The arrest and charges are related to the death of 63-year-old Robert Prevost of Clarence-Rockland. On May 17, 2025, Prevost’s body was found in the Ottawa River near Dallaire Street in Clarence-Rockland. Prevost had been missing since March 2025.
Earlier in June, two other individuals were arrested and charged with first degree murder and indignity to a body in relation to this investigation.
The Russell County OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance was provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services and OPP specialized units, including the Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Aviation Unit, Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and the Snowmobile, All-Terrain Vehicle and Vessel Enforcement team.
