Tristan Ladouceur of Alexandria is only 19 years old, already in his fifth season as a DIRT track driver in the Sportsman class and holds the 2024 Sportsman championship at Mohawk International Raceway (NY) and last year’s title at Cornwall Motor Speedway. With three consecutive wins in June, he is currently the driver everyone’s watching in the Sportsman class at Mohawk International Raceway.

Here’s what the third-generation driver said shortly after his third victory:

“We knew we had a great car this season, but winning three races in-a-row is never something you take for granted. The 92t team worked hard all winter, and everything seems to be working well at the start of the 2026 racing season.” When asked if three consecutive wins puts him under more pressure or less, he said that depends.

“A bit of both. It’s true that when a driver wins regularly, expectations are higher, but at the same time, it gives you a lot of confidence. I’m mainly trying to focus on each race one at a time.”

And when you’re among the best in your category, the challenges are always there.

“The biggest challenge is being consistent every week. At Mohawk International Raceway, with 20-25 other competitors on the track each week, the level of competition is very high, and you always have to find ways to improve to stay in the lead.”

Despite his current successes, the defending Sportsman champion from Cornwall Motor Speedway remains very humble about the reasons behind them: “I think it comes mainly from the work of the whole team. I have an excellent car, and my parents and sponsors give me all the support I need. We also must not forget the fans that encourage us every week. Without them, none of this would be possible.”

As for the 2025 Championship, defended by the driver of the Sportsman 92t, there has only been one race night at Cornwall Motor Speedway since the start of the current season: heavy showers have forced the owners to cancel or postpone four of the five scheduled Sunday night programs. Both the drivers on the track and the many fans that fill the grandstands at Cornwall Motor Speedway are eagerly hoping for dry weather on the coming Sundays so they can enjoy their favorite summer sport: DIRT track racing!
