The final St. John’s Lunch Project meal of the school year for students at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute (VCI) was served on Wednesday, June 17.

For the last event of the school year, Champlain Township Mayor Normand Riopel, Hawkesbury Rotary Club President Walter Kasper, and St. John’s own Rev. Felix Longdon were busy serving students’ hamburgers and macaroni and cheese.

Since its launch this past January, the Lunch Project has been guided by Chair Rick Blenner-Hassett. On June 17, Brent Barton provided his mobile grill and cooking skills to prepare the hamburgers.

Church volunteers are looking forward to continuing to prepare and serve the meals when school resumes in September.
