Maxville Manor welcomed residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community members to its recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), highlighting a year marked by transformative growth, strong leadership, and an unwavering commitment to exceptional senior, and long-term care.
“This has been a very busy and transformative year,” said Board Chair Pat Cole. “Maxville Manor is growing, rejuvenating, and writing an exciting new chapter in its history.”
Maxville Manor continues to deliver on its mission of care, connection, inclusion, and quality of life through long-term care, seniors’ apartments, and community outreach. Programs highlighted at the AGM demonstrated a holistic approach to care, supporting residents’ physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual well-being through initiatives such as music therapy, horticulture, sensory programming, and intergenerational activities.
The Manor offers many community programs, including transportation and adult day programs that continue to bring joy and meaning beyond the Manor’s walls, made possible by amazing activities and seniors outreach teams and by volunteers who contribute more than 20,000 hours each year, helping to enhance the exceptional care, comfort, and sense of community that our residents deserve.
Significant progress continues on Maxville Manor’s redevelopment, which will increase capacity from 122 and welcome 160 residents, to become a critical investment in the future of long-term care in our region, supporting families and serving people across Eastern Ontario.
“While planning for the future, we remain focused on delivering quality care today,” said CEO Steven Golden.
Phase 1 of the four-phase redevelopment is 80 per cent complete. This phase includes the construction of a new kitchen, temporary receiving and storage areas, temporary office consolidation, and the development of a new parking lot.
Phase 2 is already underway ahead of schedule, with foundation work progressing in preparation for a new two-storey building that will accommodate 64 residents. This phase will also support a shared vision to enhance the Manor’s vibrant community hub, long known as Town Square, which will evolve to include access to a new outdoor courtyard space.
Future phases will continue to transform the home, adding two new neighbourhoods,
expanding, and enhancing care spaces, upgrading an existing neighbourhood, and improving the home overall. Planned enhancements include improved accessibility, upgraded electrical systems, modernized equipment and technology, and improved heating and ventilation systems, among many other improvements.
“It’s busy, and we are making very good progress,” said Manor Board Director Andrew Arkinstall.
The Maxville Manor Foundation proudly announced a landmark achievement in January 2026, reaching its $11 million fundraising goal in support of the Manor’s redevelopment with outstanding donor support.
The AGM also marked the departure of three valued board members: Alison McDonald, Amanda Macdonell, and Olga Ferrier, who has served as a dedicated board member since 2013. Each were recognized for their leadership, commitment, and lasting contributions, and wished every success in the next chapter of their journey.
