A packed house was treated to a night of top-level professional wrestling last Friday evening (June 5), as Au Sommet de la Lutte Hawkesbury presented the ASDLL Rivalite, Le Dernier Chapitre, at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex in Hawkesbury.
Local favorite Mathis Myre was a clear favorite on the night, as he faced off in a singles match against former WWE star Johnny TV. After a back and forth and acrobatic contest, Johnny TV ultimately was able to pin the local wrestling star.
American Richard Holliday taunted the crowd, before taking on Marko Estra in an entertaining match that had the crowd on their feet. Estra won the match, but Holliday’s wrestling eventually earned the respect he demanded from the fans in attendance.
Frank Milano came out on top in the Franco-Canadian Championship three-man match against Junior Benito and Karl Jepson, while Dreya Mitchell overcame a tough fight from Isla Dawn for the Women’s ASDLL Championship.
Billed as a family-friendly event, the evening of professional wrestling certainly lived up to those expectations, with numerous families in attendance with excited youngsters. And the wrestlers interacted with the kids and their parents at every opportunity, most notably during the grand Royal Rumble featuring dozens of contestants throwing each other out of the ring.
The Review was a proud sponsor of this event.
