The street names in the newest phase of Innovation business park in The Nation Municipality recognize notable innovators.
On Monday, May 25, municipal council approved a staff recommendation to name the streets in the second phase of Innovation Park, Graham-Bell Drive, Edison Street, and Watt Street.
Graham-Bell Drive recognizes Alexander Graham-Bell and his contribution to modern communication, particularly in the development of the telephone. Edison Street recognizes Thomas Edison and his contributions to electric lighting and power distribution. Watt Street recognizes James Watt, whose work contributed to industrial development. The watt is also the standard unit of power, making the name fitting for an industrial and commercial park.
The Nation Municipality is proceeding with the development of Innovation Park Phase 2, which will add new industrial and commercial lands south of Innovation Park Phase 1 in Limoges.
