Municipal election candidates are beginning to be nominated in East Hawkesbury.
Mayor Robert Kirby said two months ago he plans to seek re-election. His nomination documents were filed with the municipal clerk’s office on Tuesday, May 19.
Councillor Monique Desjardins is also seeking another term on council. Her nomination documents were submitted on Monday, May 4.
As of Thursday, May 21, no other candidates for the 2026 municipal election had been nominated in East Hawkesbury.
Voting Day in municipalities across Ontario is Monday, October 26.
