Police officers in dark blue from Ontario and dark green from Québec recently worked together to get drivers to slow down on the Long Sault Bridge.
On Wednesday, May 20, officers from the Sûreté du Québec and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a joint speed enforcement operation on the bridge connecting Hawkesbury and Grenville. The objective of the operation was to target motorists travelling at excessive speeds in both directions on the bridge between Ontario and Québec. More than 40 speeding tickets were issued to offenders by the two police forces. Further joint operations will be conducted by the two police services, whose shared goal remains road safety and reducing the number of road traffic accidents. Both the OPP and Sûreté du Québec want to reinforce the message that road safety remains a priority for both organizations.
