Police made a significant seizure of illegal drugs, weapons, and contraband cannabis in Lachute on Thursday, May 14. Three people were arrested in connection with the search and seizure.

Sûreté du Québec officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Rue Durocher.

A 68-year-old man, a 50-year-old man, and a 29-year-old woman were arrested at the residence and later released. They will appear in court at a later date in Saint-Jérôme,  where they could face charges related to narcotics, illegal cannabis, firearms, and offences under the Tax and Tobacco Act.

During the operation, police seized:

• More than 11 electronic cigarettes containing THC;

• More than 25 grams of processed cannabis;

• More than 200 grams of hashish;

• More than 1 kilogram of cannabis;

• Over 900 methamphetamine tablets;

• Small quantities of cocaine and psilocybin;

• Over 100 prescription pills;

• Over 1,000 contraband cigarettes;

• Over $2,200 in Canadian currency;

• 3 handguns;

• 7 hunting rifles

This operation stems from an investigation launched following information received from the public.
