Casselman’s new town hall is officially open and while Rhéal Leroux may not have the key to the building, has does have the ceremonial key to the town.

On Thursday, May 14, Casselman resident Rhéal Leroux was presented with the key to the town in recognition of his work as a businessman, founder of the Bal des Neiges and creator of numerous Franco-Ontarian initiatives.

The key to the town is awarded to individuals or organizations that have made an outstanding contribution to the community, whether at the national or international level.

“Rhéal Leroux is a concrete example of the ambition and boldness of Franco-Ontarians. His commitment both to organizations and the business world is exceptional. I encourage all residents to get involved in community life to enrich our municipality,” said Mayor Geneviève Lajoie.

Leroux was touched by being recognized with the municipality’s highest honour.

” Casselman has been much more than just my hometown: it has been my first learning ground, the place where I discovered the strength of the community, the importance of defending our Francophonie, and the joy of organizing, bringing people together, and building. It is here that I took my first steps as a leader and as an entrepreneur, guided by simple, solid, and human values,” he said.

A 100 people attended the official opening of the new municipal office, which is located at Unit 200 of 1 Industriel Street.
