Candidate nominations for municipal elections in the Town of Hawkesbury and The Nation Municipality have been slow since the nomination period opened on May 1.
As of Monday, May 11, Gilbert Hanna was the only name on the unofficial list of candidates for council in the Town of Hawkesbury.
Hawkesbury voters elect six councillors at large in addition to the mayor.
In The Nation, where one councillor is elected in each of the six wards, along with the mayor, three incumbent councillors had submitted nomination documents as of Monday, May 11. Those candidates are Tim Stewart in Ward 1, Raymond Lalande in Ward 4, and Marjorie Drolet in Ward 6.
