On Monday, April 13, the Township of East Hawkesbury appointed James McMahon as its new Director of Public Works, with the appointment having officially taken effect on April 7.
The Director of Public Works is responsible for overseeing the township’s Asset Management Plan, as well as the operation and maintenance of municipal infrastructure and public works services.
McMahon’s full-time position has an annual salary of $115,000, along with four weeks of paid vacation each year.
In his role, McMahon will oversee the maintenance and operation of municipal infrastructure, including roads, culverts, signage, parks, facilities, and other related services. He will also be responsible for addressing citizen inquiries and concerns regarding public works services and attending council meetings as required.
McMahon was previously the Director of Public Works in Wentworth Nord, and in Champlain Township.
