A new resource designed to support newcomers in Eastern Ontario is now available.
Created by the Eastern Ontario Local Immigration Partnership (EOLIP), the Newcomer Information Package is a detailed 63-page guide aimed at helping individuals and families settle into Prescott-Russell, the surrounding counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG), and Cornwall.
The all-in-one guide is meant to be a practical, easy-to-use tool for newcomers, as well as for service providers and community partners who support them. It provides clear, relevant information to help people navigate essential services and build a strong foundation in their new community.
The guide covers a range of key topics, including:
- Employment
- Education
- Finances
- Healthcare
- Safety
- 2SLGBTQ+ Community
- Rights and Supports
- Transportation
“This guide was created to ensure newcomers have the information they need to confidently access services and feel supported as they begin their journey in Eastern Ontario,” said Cindy McRae, project manager for EOLIP. “It’s about making the transition smoother and helping people feel at home faster.”
Whether you are new to the region or supporting someone who is, the Newcomer Information Package is designed to make the transition easier and improve the overall settlement experience.
