As of Friday, April 17, the city of Lachute continued to urge residents to prepare for potential flooding as water levels rise along Rivière du Nord. In updates issued on the municipal website on April 15 and 16, the city said flooding is expected in the days ahead, though the extent remains uncertain due to changing weather conditions and recent rainfall.
Residents in flood-prone areas are being asked to take preventive measures. The municipality has set up sandbag filling stations at several intersections:
- rue Bellingham and rue Filion
- rue Clyde and rue Meikle
- rue Harriet and rue Filion

Non-urgent flooding-related requests, such as sandbag assistance or preventive inquiries, should be directed to 311, while 911 is reserved for emergencies.
On Friday, flooding had already occurred in Parc Barron and neighbouring properties.

The city said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as new information becomes available, typically later in the day based on morning assessments.
With water levels rising, officials are urging residents to remain vigilant and follow official communications as conditions evolve.
