A woman and a man were arrested in connection with a traffic stop in Lachute on April 10.

Sûreté du Québec officers from the MRC d’Argenteuil MRC detachment intercepted a vehicle in the Avenue Barron area. There were three people in the vehicle.

During the stop, officers discovered narcotics and arrested a passenger. A 33-year-old Lachute man was arrested and later released. He will appear in court at a later date in Saint-Jérôme. He is expected to face charges related to narcotics, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and breach of conditions. Police seized more than nine grams of cocaine, an imitation firearm, and cash during the stop.

A 27-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was also arrested during the stop. She was later released. She will appear in court at a later date in Saint-Jérôme. She is expected to face charges of obstructing a peace officer.
