A new lookout overlooking Grenville Bay is set to be installed along the village’s cycling network after the Municipalité régionale de comté (MRC) d’Argenteuil Council awarded a construction contract on Wednesday, April 8.

The contract, valued at $38,000 plus applicable taxes, was awarded to Multi-Kit to build the lookout along the recently completed bike path near the Grenville Canal.

According to Director General Éric Pelletier, the project is scheduled for completion this summer.

Pelletier said the MRC “has received government funding to cover 80 per cent of the costs, with the Village of Grenville covering the remaining 20 per cent.”

The project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure along the local cycling route, which has seen recent development.

No additional details on the design or specific features of the lookout were provided.
