Agnès Grondin will not seek another term as Member of the National Assembly (MNA) for Argenteuil in the election scheduled for October 5, bringing an end to eight years in provincial politics under Premier François Legault’s Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ).

In a social media post addressed to residents on Wednesday, April 8, Grondin thanked constituents for the “rare privilege you have granted me over the past eight years,” noting she was the first woman elected to the role in Argenteuil.

Grondin pointed to several projects advanced during her time in office, including the expansion of high-speed internet access and work related to the Grenville Canal. She also highlighted collaboration with municipal, provincial, and federal partners, as well as support from Legault on key regional projects.

After two terms, Grondin said she intends to step away from politics to “return to my first loves: family and environmental protection.”

“As Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of the Environment, I am proud to have contributed to providing Québec with coordinated action plans to protect our precious water resources,” she said in the statement.

Grondin added that she will continue to serve the riding until the end of her mandate, emphasizing her goal of ensuring Argenteuil’s voice is represented in Québec City.
