On Thursday, January 29, Champlain Township Council unanimously approved the installation of a three-way stop at the intersection of Soulanges Street and Lemoyne Street in the La Seigneurie subdivision in L’Orignal.

Three-way stop signs have already been installed at the intersection by the developer but required council’s approval through a by-law for the Traffic Act to be enforceable.

Champlain Director of Public Works Maxime Lafrance reported that in 2025, the township had received numerous requests for traffic-calming infrastructure, with one common request being additional stop signs.

As the signage has already been installed, there will be no cost to the township.
