Two significant players in the regional dairy product industry have partnered to continue cheesemaking in Montebello.

On Thursday, November 27, Fromagerie Montebello announced its official relaunch made possible due to a partnership between Fromagerie coopérative St-Albert and Gatineau-based Laiterie de l’Outaouais.

The transaction confirming the partnership was recently finalized. While the agreement is now official, the three partners have been working together for several months to implement a strategic relaunch plan.

“I am extremely pleased with this partnership. Joining forces with two such solid and well-established companies allow us to look to the future with confidence and ensure our long-term viability,” said Fromagerie Montebello General Manager Alain Boyer.

“This partnership aligns perfectly with each entity’s vision. For Laiterie de l’Outaouais, it reinforces its mission to preserve and develop dairy processing expertise in the region, a mandate given more than 15 years ago by the people of the Outaouais,” stated Yannick Bouchard, President and CEO.

Fromagerie coopérative St-Albert is proud to contribute its century-old expertise to this revitalization. Its General Manager, Éric Lafontaine, emphasized: “We are pleased with our cooperative’s contribution to this process. We are convinced that the expertise we have developed over more than 100 years will be a major asset for the restructuring and future success of this fine company, Fromagerie Montebello.”

This strong partnership between three regional businesses represents a significant commitment to the community and the local economy. Together, they are committed to continuing the production of high-quality cheeses and promoting the expertise of the Outaouais region across the country.

Fromagerie Montebello was founded in 2011 and is renowned for the quality of its award-winning artisanal cheeses, notably its award-winning Le Rébellion 1837 cheese.
