On Monday, August 25, 2025, the Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry (SDG) Counties council elected Township of North Stormont Mayor François (Frank) Landry to lead the council as Warden beginning in 2026.
“I am looking forward to continuing to champion the priorities and projects established by our council,” Landry said. “We will advance priorities like ensuring Highway 138 receives the necessary upgrades to make it safer, and we want to ensure prudent financial decisions that benefit our residents.”

Landry was one of two councillors nominated for the position. The second nominee was Jason Broad, Mayor of South Dundas.
Each nominee spoke about why they were the best candidate for Warden. Council members then voted individually and privately in a separate room.
Landry has held numerous elected positions for over 11 years. He served as North Stormont’s Deputy Mayor from 2018 to 2022 before being elected Mayor in 2022, and has represented North Stormont at SDG Counties council since 2014.
“I’d like to thank council for their vote of confidence; this is something I’m very proud of. I look forward to working with our administration. We have a very strong admin team and staff at the SDG Counties’ level,” Landry concluded.
Landry will be officially sworn in during a ceremony in December 2025.
