Grenville village Councillor Andre Lemay has requested further follow-up by the village to a request earlier made that Consignaction open a container return and redemption facility in Grenville.
The nearest Consignaction redemption centre is in Lachute. In March 2025, Québec expanded the number of containers with a return deposit. Grenville council wants an additional redemption centre to provide residents of western Argenteuil with a reliable place to return their empties following the increase in the number of items consumers are paying return deposits for upon purchase.
Dragon boats
The village of Grenville will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2026, and events throughout the year are being planned.
According to Pierre Bakx, the Chevaliers de Colomb are hoping to organize dragon boat races as one of the events to celebrate the anniversary.
