A well-respected musician from Glengarry wants to introduce more local acts to recording.
Neil Emberg, founder and current member of Hadrian’s Wall, is organizing Summer Recording Sessions to give bands and solo acts the opportunity to record for the first time.
In July and August, Emberg will have his recording equipment set up in a secure location where musicians who have reserved ahead can record their music.
Emberg has recorded 10 albums of his own and has worked extensively on multiple production projects with musicians in the Vankleek Hill area, and other well-known bands in the region such as the County Lads and Audio Visceral.
“There’s a new generation of musicians who’ve maybe never recorded in front of anything other than an iPhone,” Emberg remarked. He said this will offer the opportunity to perform and record using high quality equipment.
Several musicians have already contact Emberg, expressing interest in a recording session. He is planning to offer the sessions for one week in July and one week in August.
“There’s a lot of young bands around,” Emberg said.
He added that recording allows musicians to promote their work and it serves as a sort of business card to promote what they do.
Any musicians interested in a Summer Recording Session with Neil Emberg may contact him at 613-410-1046.
Emberg was also recently inducted into the Glengarry Celtic Music Hall of Fame.
