The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will have a new home in Lancaster.

On Friday, May 23, Solicitor General Michael Kerzner announced that 12 new detachment buildings would be constructed in communities across the province to replace existing facilities. Most of the new buildings are in Northern Ontario, but one of the projects is in Lancaster, where the building is used by the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP.

The current OPP facility in Lancaster is located on Pine Street. No location for the new building was announced.

In partnership with Infrastructure Ontario, the province is launching a competitive process to find qualified teams to help design, build, and finance the new detachments. Interested parties can visit www.merx.com to download the Request for Qualifications (RFQ).
