According to a press release from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, L’Orignal resident Normand Ravary has been fined $12,500 after pleading guilty to making unauthorized alterations to the shoreline of his waterfront property on the Ottawa River.

The case was heard at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on January 16, 2025 by Justice of the Peace Louise Logue. The court heard that between May and October 2023, Ravary conducted shoreline alterations along his waterfront property consisting of filling shore lands along the shoreline which were completed without the authority of a work permit issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources, as required by the Public Lands Act.
