On Friday, April 25, the Town of Hawkesbury hosted an open house at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex (RHSC) which included the announcement that new recreational fitness equipment for the facility will be purchased with a $93,700 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).

For several years, the RHSC has offered a wide range of programs encouraging an active lifestyle for community members of all ages. The open house allowed interested individuals to explore the facilities, ask staff questions, and sign up for programs.

Thanks to the OTF grant, the RHSC added new equipment—including 12 spin bikes, 12 aqua bikes, a padded obstacle course for children, and a climbing wall—to expand its program offerings.

At the open house, Glengarry-Prescott-Russell Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Stéphane Sarrazin said, “The best part of being an MPP is coming to our communities and announcing grants.”

He added, “This funding directly supports the well-being of our community and promotes a healthy lifestyle for current and future generations.”

Hawkesbury Mayor Robert Lefebvre invited residents to come to the centre and explore the new equipment and program offerings.
