On April 1, 2025, the 57 SD&G Army Cadet Corps from Vankleek Hill was awarded a $3000.00 donation from the Hawkesbury Rotary Club. Captain Kenneth Lummis, and cadet CWO Ariel Perreault accepted the donation from Rotarian (and former cadet) Les Gann.
This donation will go towards purchasing various equipment that the corps requires as well as supporting events and activities for the cadets.
The Cadet Program is a national, community-based program for youth aged 12 to 18. This program focuses on physical activity and the outdoors such as biathlon, marksmanship, pipes and drums.
