Late at night on Thursday, March 13 into the early morning of Thursday, March 14, a total lunar eclipse was visible in our region. Referred to as the ‘Blood Moon’ the orange tint on the moon’s surface during totality is refracted sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere. Local astronomer Richard Alexandrowich of the Champlain Astronomy Club shared these photos of the various stages of the eclipse.
