The pédiatrie sociale en communauté d’Argenteuil (CPSCA), the Argenteuil community pediatrics centre is relocating. It is also receiving a financial contribution of $25,000 from the Municipalité régionale de comte (MRC) d’Argenteuil, or $5,000 per year for the period 2026-2030. The city of Lachute is also contributing $5,000.

Faced with a lack of premises, the Centre de services scolaire de la Rivière-du-Nord (CSSRDN) recently informed the CPSCA that it wanted to take back the spaces it had been lending to the organization free of charge on rue Hammond in Lachute. As a result, the CPSCA began searching for a new building and purchased rue Ayers, a short distance from its current premises. Work is still needed to prepare the building for the CPSCA.

The organization hopes to welcome children into its new premises in the spring of 2025.

The new financial assistance from the MRC d’Argenteuil is in addition to the regional government’s annual contribution of $10,000 in support of the CPSCA’s mission. The MRC has supported the CPSCA since its founding in 2017.

“The MRC d’Argenteuil has been proud to support the Centre since its inception and is pleased to contribute to the organization’s move to its new premises,” said MRC Prefect Scott Pearce.

The CPSCA is a non-profit organization whose main mission is to support the growth and development of children aged 0 to 18 in situations of great vulnerability by offering them integrated services. Medical, psychosocial and speech therapy services, in addition to group activities, are offered. For more information about the CPSCA, visit www.cpscargenteuil.org.
