One man is dead and a woman was airlifted to hospital following a head-on collision in East Hawkesbury on Tuesday, October 1.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), United Counties of Prescott Russell Paramedics and East Hawkesbury Fire Department were called to the head-on collision on County Road 17 east of Tupper Street at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
A vehicle had crossed the centre line and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
One driver was pronounced deceased after being transported to hospital. He is identified as a 63-year-old man from Saint-Émile-de-Suffolk, Québec.
The other driver, a 34-year-old woman from Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, was transported by air to a regional trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Hawkesbury OPP continues to investigate the collision, with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and members of the Technical Collision Investigation Team.
