The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) Foundation wants to thank you for supporting the wellbeing of children at the hospital! This year, McHappy Day was held on Wednesday, May 8. Created in 1977, McHappy Day helps raise money for the Ronald McDonald House and for local charities that help children.
The HGH Foundation was the beneficiary of a portion of the McHappy Day proceeds from the McDonald’s restaurants in Hawkesbury and Grenville. A total of $8,105.35 was raised! The funds will support the Children Rehabilitation Program of Eastern Ontario at HGH. This program helps children regain their mobility, strength and flexibility, or it helps them adapt to their condition following an accident or illness. The program also helps children living with a developmental delay or other condition improve their co-ordination and their communication so they can reach their full potential.
Guests could also make a donation directly to the Foundation or buy fun items, such as socks, sunglasses, tangle puzzles, light up wands and even cute stuffed lion toys. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were on site for a portion of the day to collect donations. The Hawkesbury and Grenville Fire Departments were also at the event in the afternoon to help collect donations and to take pictures. The HGH Foundation wishes to thank them for their time and support!
The HGH Foundation particularly wishes to thank all those who visited the McDonald’s restaurants in Hawkesbury and Grenville on McHappy Day! It is your support that continues to ensure that children in our community flourish by having access to the very best resources at HGH. Thank you for supporting such an important program! Your generosity will help make a difference in the lives of many children in our region.
