Shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, Sûreté du Québec police officers from the MRC d’ Argenteuil station were notified of the erratic driving of a motorist on Route 158, in Lachute. The vehicle stopped near 2000, Route 148 in Lachute by itself. A citizen who saw the individual in the vehicle told the police that the person did not seem well. Upon arriving on scene, the police noticed that the driver appeared to be sleeping behind the wheel. After the usual checks, the police arrested the driver, a 38-year-old man from Saint-Jérôme. He was taken to the hospital center and a blood sample was also taken.

During the intervention, drugs were seized by the police. The accused remained detained for an appearance in court in Saint-Jérôme. The accused has been charged with drug-impaired driving, drug possession and breach of probation.
