One person is dead and two people were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries resulting from a collision on County Road 17 east of Hawkesbury on Tuesday, June 4.
The collision occurred between Tupper Street and Golf Road.
At about 4:45 p.m., members of the Hawkesbury OPP detachment, Prescott-Russell Paramedic Services, the Hawkesbury Fire Department, and East Hawkesbury Fire Department responded to a head-on collision involving two motor vehicles. Both vehicles caught fire.
The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical services. Two passengers were transported to hospital – both with life-threatening injuries.
County Road 17 near the collision site was closed for approximately eight hours.
The collision remains under investigation with assistance from the OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI).
