Three businesses in Argenteuil are competing in the regional final of the annual Défi OSEntreprendre. The annual competition showcases entrepreneurial initiatives across Québec. The regional finals for the Laurentides take place on May 1 in Mirabel.

There are two categories for the 2024 Défi OSEntreprendre. They are Business Creation and Doing Business Together. Among the three Argenteuil competitors, Chunks repas DME meal Chunks of Saint-André-d’Argenteuil is part of the commerce component of the Business Creation category. Chunks manufactures foods aimed at easing babies onto solid food. Lachute pottery workshop For Mé Création is part of the services for individuals component of the Business Creation category, and microbrewery Brasserie Sir John of Lachute is competing in the Doing Business Together category.

Each of the winning companies in Argenteuil was offered a one-year membership in the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie d’Argenteuil as well as a $150 cheque from the Municipalité régionale de comté (MRC) d’Argenteuil. For the Laurentides level of the challenge, the entrepreneurs will be called for an interview before a regional jury. The regional winners selected on May 1 will then go to the final competition at the Québec level.

The MRC has also recognized the participation of Bistro aux Lubies of Lachute, Ferme la Roquette of Brownsburg-Chatham, and Marché Lost River of Harrington for their participation in the Argenteuil level of the challenge.
