After nearly 15 years, Regroupement Autisme Prescott-Russell will now also serve anglophone families affected by autism. It has also unveiled a rebranding initiative that includes a revised name, an expansion of services, and a fresh logo.
Established in 2010 as an association, Regroupement Autisme Prescott-Russell transitioned into a non-profit organization in 2020. By 2021, it achieved charitable status. Over the past two years, it has welcomed numerous new members, and this growth has illuminated a pressing need for transformative change and a greater emphasis on inclusion. In response to the growing demand for services from English-speaking families, it has conducted a thorough review of its programs. Consequently, the organization has announced it will now welcome English-speaking participants into its programs. Emphasizing our commitment to inclusion, this decision aligns with its dedication to addressing the evolving needs of the community we serve and filling any gaps in services.
The new name of the organization is “Regroupement Autisme Prescott-Russell Autism Group.” Additionally, the website is currently undergoing translation efforts to ensure that all information is accessible in both languages.
The transformation is also mirrored in the updated logo which depicts two child-like silhouettes standing on a vibrantly coloured infinity symbol. The infinity symbol serves as a representation of the expansive and intricate nature of the autism spectrum, encompassing individuals with diverse strengths and challenges. The rainbow spectrum is a widely adopted colour representation for autism, diverging from a singular hue to encompass a multitude of colours. This concept beautifully encapsulates the idea that each person with autism is unique and cannot be encapsulated by a single colour.
In embracing these transformative changes, the organization is excited about the journey ahead and the positive impact it will have on the community. The rebranding marks a significant step in its commitment to inclusivity and responsiveness to the evolving needs of those it serves.
