The second phase of a new residential subdivision in Wendover is going ahead.

On March 5, Alfred and Plantagenet township council adopted a resolution authorizing planning staff to sign a subdivision agreement between Anco Homes Ltd. and the municipality for the second phase of 43 lots in the Wendover development. In 2021, a preliminary subdivision plan was presented to council by Anco for a total of 115 residential lots in three phases. The first phase was approved in December 2022 and has 72 lots and only 20 of them remain vacant.

The report presented to council on March 5 explained how Anco President André Lefebvre had fulfilled the conditions of approval. All applicable fees were paid, and all required documents had been submitted. As of March 5, a bank guarantee letter, consent of the mortgagee and freezing order had still not been received by the township. However, those documents were expected shortly so staff recommended council proceed with the resolution authorizing the signing of the subdivision agreement.  Council members had no comments or questions before they adopted the resolution.
