This winter, snowmobiles will have a safer route to follow east of Hawkesbury.
On December 14, United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) council granted the Eastern Ontario Snowmobile Club permission to build a culvert beside an existing road culvert on County Road 17 east of Hawkesbury which will allow snowmobilers to stay on their own trail, instead of using the shoulder of the busy road.
The road culvert itself was replaced during the fall of 2022 and is located near the East Hawkesbury Airport.
