The Stormont Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in relation to an ongoing arson investigation.
The SD&G OPP Crime Unit has been investigating 18 suspicious fires that have occurred over the past four months.
On December 16, 2022, SD&G OPP arrested and charged one person in connection with an arson that occurred on Dominion Street in Alexandria, North Glengarry township. This is one of 18 fires currently being investigated.
Eric Seguin, 32, of North Glengarry, Ontario is charged with:
– Arson – damage to property – Criminal Code (CC) sec 434
– Break, enter dwelling house, commit indictable offence – CC sec 348(1)(b)
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall at a later date.
