Lachute residents are invited to submit project ideas to be carried out on municipal land.
This is the first time a request for projects has been made and the theme for the first edition is the environment and sustainable development. Priority will be given to projects with an environmental impact and the revitalization of citizens living environments.
Interested citizens and organizations have until January 27, 2023, to submit their project ideas. They must use the form provided at aucoeurdelachute.ca, the city hall reception desk, and the library loan counter.
A total amount of $30,000 is allocated for the project in the 2023 municipal budget. The program is divided into two parts, citizens will be able to submit a project in one of two proposed sections, a $20,000 community project, and a $10,000 community project.
The projects selected by a steering committee and then decided by a public vote.
The two projects receiving the most votes will be funded and carried out by the city of Lachute before the end of 2023.
