The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person following an alleged robbery that took place on November 5, 2022, at approximately 5:20 p.m.
Investigation revealed that the victims attended a residence in the Town of Hawkesbury, regarding the sale of merchandise. Once at the location, the victims were confronted by an individual with a firearm, who demanded they drop the items and leave.
A 20-year-old from Hawkesbury, Ontario, has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Canadian Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) offences:
- · Adult Robbery Using Firearm – CC 344(1) (a.1)
- · Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine – CDSA 4 (1)
- · Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Methylenedioxyamphetamine (Ecstasy) – CDSA 4 (1)
- · Adult Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs – CDSA 5 (2) – four counts
- · Adult Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of Trafficking – CDSA 5 (2)
The accused will be held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the l’Orignal Court of Justice for a bail hearing on November 7, 2022, at 1 pm.
