Hospital officials in the Laurentides region are requesting that people use hospital emergency departments for emergencies only.
Due to the high occupancy rates in the emergency rooms, the CISSS des Laurentides health authority is asking those with non-emergency health problems to opt for solutions other than going to the hospital.
The situation affects hospitals across the region, including Lachute.
People who are not seriously injured or ill should opt for alternatives to go to the hospital such as Info-Santé 811, their family doctor, the GAP service, or consult a pharmacist.
More services are presented in the “Consult a professional” section of santelaurentides.gouv.qc.ca .
The CISSS des Laurentides ensures that urgent cases at hospital emergency departments will be taken care of quickly. Anyone in a critical and unstable situation should not hesitate to go to the emergency room where essential care will be provided.
