It was a magical evening at the Vankleek Hill Tulip Fields for ‘Sweet Home VKH’ on Saturday evening (July 2).

About 100 local residents gathers for an evening of amazing food and great music under the stars 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., as the Hawkesbury Rotary Club and Vankleek Hill Business and Merchant Association held the first of several special events planned over the summer. The evening included a spectacular multi-course meal served by local business A Catered Affair, including a signature cocktail, salad, mixed grill, potatoes, vegetables, dessert and coffee or tea.

The entire meal was served at a long outdoor dining table set out in the field and able to seat everyone in attendance. Local band 50 PROOF played music near the bar and dance floor, which also allowed the sound to waft over the dining table and fields.

It was all in all an amazing evening outdoors, with many in attendance describing it on Facebook afterwards as “magical” and ‘like being in beautiful summertime movie”.

The Vankleek Hill Business and Merchant Association is planning a number of other events this summer, including outdoor drive-in movies at the Vankleek Hill fairgrounds.
