Police have made the second drug bust in a week in Argenteuil. The first one was on June 21 in Gore, and on Wednesday, MRC d’Argenteuil Sûreté du Québec officers seized drugs and made an arrest at a residence in Brownsburg-Chatham. 

When the dwelling on route du Canton (Route 148) was searched, a 29-year-old man was arrested and later released on summons. He will have to appear on a date later at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse and could face charges related to possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and firearms offences. 

During this operation, the police seized: 

  • Nearly 4 kilos of cannabis in pots 
  • More than 25 grams of cocaine 
  • More than 120 grams of cannabis resin 
  • Over $1170 in Canadian currency 
  • A handgun 
  • Two prohibited weapons 
  • Over 370 prescription medication tablets 
  • Small amount of methamphetamine 

The operation resulted from an investigation initiated following information received from the public.
