Sûreté du Québec officers carried out a search and made two drug-related arrests in Lachute on May 3.  

Police carried out a search of a dwelling on rue des Bouleaux and a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman from Lachute were arrested at the scene. They were later released but will appear in court at a later date to face possible charges.  

During the operation, police officers seized: 

  • More than 5 kilos of cannabis in a casserole
  • More than 180 grams of cannabis resin
  • More than 150 grams of cannabis in the form of wax
  • More than 1 kilogram of magic mushrooms
  • More than 90 electronic cigarettes containing THC
  • Equipment intended for drug trafficking
  • Over $6,600 in Canadian currency
  • A home-made electric conducted energy weapon
  • Two prohibited edged weapons
  • A 2012 Lexus 

The operation resulted from an investigation initiated following information received from the public.
